Now that Cass the Gas has retired, I need to find someone to sort out my boiler.
Who do you recommend?

After trying several independent people, we've ended up with British Gas again. If you join their boiler care scheme, they service it every year and usually come out within 24 hours if there's a problem. Our boiler is unreliable enough to make this worthwhile. I've always tried to use sole traders, but the man who installed our boiler wouldn't return calls if there was a fault and another Lewes-based company fixed our boiler so that we only had heating upstairs.

British Gas are pretty good if you're lucky enough to get one of their decent engineers
Just check what you're buying if you sign up to one of their plans, there are exclusions
The problem with is sole traders is we're very busy during the winter so you may have to wait
Derek is very good, in fact, all most as good as me ;-)

As asked previously, care to share the name of your company?

Not at all reliable plumber, I just remember the quality of your previous comments over the years...
"I would be happy to attend your plumbing needs for my standard 60.00 for the first hour then 45.00 per hour for any additional. But as you're obviously a certain Lewes type, and I've 'seen you coming' I will be more than happy to double this and string the job out for at least three weeks. "
"If you've already had a couple of blokes look at the job, then run for the hills never to be seen again then you can surmise any (or all) of the following:
The job is a complete nightmare.
Your place is a filthy, smelly hovel.
You don't (or give the impression that you don't) have any money.
You want to supply materials thus cut the profit to be made.
Or, it may just be that you come across as being a complete pain in the aRse, but as I've not met you I couldn't comment on that one. "
"I went to view a job in the summer for a women who wanted about 2k worth of work. Stuck to her fridge with a magnet were half a dozen red letter final demands. Oddly enough that was one I didn't follow up. "
"So let me get this straight, you want a first class service on the cheap? Hmmm. "

Always keen to slag off any other plumber in the area (although most of the time you just slag off your clients), always keen to compare other unfavourably to yourself, yet despite repeated requests you have yet to once actually back up your claims of being the best with a company name so that your previous clients can confirm or deny it.
