I don't know if its celebrity culture getting more irrelevant or just me losing my edge, but I've never ever heard of Heath Ledger.

There are reports that he was depressed and was found unconscious next to a load of prescription drugs...possible overdose. Lets see what the autopsy says.

Yes. A man's died when he should have lived. Irrelevant that many of us (including me) had never heard of him. Time to close this topic.

An overpaid druggy died. Lets not dress things up here. It must be so hard earning all that money. Would certainly upset me.

Well I for one think its a shame.I thought he was excellent in all 3 films and was destined for a long acting career.I've been keeping my eye out to see exactly what happened and what drugs,if any were involved.Where are you getting your information from? You have already decided that his death was due to illegal drugs and Aids...If you don't know who he was, keep your opinions to yourselves.Thank God we don't live in the age of witchhunts and the ducking stool.Innocent folk wouldn't stand a chance.Shame on you all.

Never Said anything about illegal drugs and Aids? he OD on perscription drugs that were taken recreationally! Still makes him an over paid druggy, quite where you got Aids from is beyond me! Get your fact right before jumping to a conclusion!
"Thank God we don't live in the age of witchhunts and the ducking stool.Innocent folk wouldn't stand a chance"
WHATS THIS GOT TO DO WITH HIS DEATH??????
No one forced the drugs into him, OK if he slipped over and knocked himself out and unfortunaely the sleeping tabs fell into his mouth and he swallowed them I'll admit, I was wrong!

Super K, If you had read this thread properly you would have seen the references to Aids, and who said that the drugs were taken recreationally. If you paid as much attention to the news as you do to your own over inflated self importance you would have seen other people who have had problems with the prescription drug in question. The witchhunt reference furthermore is well founded, as your comments just go to prove. You have just assumed someones guilt, not based on facts but on the fact that he earns more money than you, so in your opinion deserves what he got.

If you were following this thread Super K,you would see Bonyak's comment on Aids. But this forum tends to have entries that are 'lost'.Shame,So the guy may have taken sleeping pills at night to help him sleep, and that makes him a druggie? How do you know the drugs he was prescribed were being taken recreationally? As for the witchhunt comment,I think I was right.Even the news coverage in the papers seem to be hinting he died whilst under the 'influence of drugs'.Why can't we wait for the autopsy as Honest Truth says, before we jump to conclusions. And I wasn't getting at you Super K,honest! This case to me brings home all that is wrong about news coverage.Putting things in our minds.Happens all the time.Personally I think he took his life because he was unhappy. And he will be missed. He was an fine actor.

Just went on Wiki and this is the sentence that started all the speculation.Nothing else is known yet,and won't for about a week.'Police said they found prescription medication in the bathroom and that there were "no obvious signs" of suicide, nor did they suspect foul play.[36] An initial autopsy on January 23 proved inconclusive at determining Ledger's cause of death'. I rest my case.

All that aside, I still can't fathom how a mediocre film actor's death gets such prominent media attention. Is it Slow News Week all over the world? I heard someone at work yesterday refer to him as "the James Dean of our times" for cryin' out loud. I only saw one movie he was in - 'A Knight's Tale', but he obviously didn't make that much impression. On the other hand, the coming-shortlies for the new Batman movie are looking pretty good.
