URGENT APPEAL FOR INFORMATION & RECOVERY
DACRES HOUSE SIGN STOLEN FROM LEWES BETWEEN
WENESDAY 28 NOVEMBER & THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER
Our house sign, DACRES, has been stolen sometime between Wednesday 28 November & Thursday 29 November 2018 from the bottom of our drive on the Kingston Road, Lewes, East Sussex, BN7 3ND (C7 from Lewes to Newhaven, Nr Stanley Turner Ground). The overall sign measures 77cm x 30cm with grey powder coated metal attached with 4 galvanized coach bolts to Cedar wooden backing with three metal bars, which were fixed in the ground. The sign has no value to anyone other than us and we would appreciate its return and your help.
Can you PLEASE check hedge rows, verges, your garden and keep an eye out for it on your travels and share this appeal.
If you have any information, please contact either Steven on m. 07710 900224 or Sussex Police by Email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or telephone 101, in strictest confidence.
PLEASE SHARE

Why the thumbs down on this person's appeal? You'd soon be doing the same if it was your own property.

I think it might be a thumbs down because it's a sad situation, not down to my post. Which ever way just glad there are more GOOD people than BAD and as such someone might read my post and stumble across my house sign, thanks people of Lewes.

You should see it as an opportunity to change the name.
If I owned a property called Dacres, I'd change it immediately to something that doesn't namecheck such an odious and vile excuse for a human being.
'Stalins' comes to mind, or maybe 'Saviles'.
I expect whoever's taken the sign has propped it against a pile of dog turds

Look in the phone book for people with the surname "Dacre" living locally, should narrow down the list of suspects a bit.

I'm puzzled. Why do people regard the late historian High Trevor-Roper (Lord Dacre) as vile and odious etc.?

There is a Dacre Road in Newhaven but it isn't where it used to be.
