I am a regular walker of the downs but the other morning I found that in my haste to avoid being mown down by a golfer by jumping up onto the one foot wide footpath, that it is covered in dog sh*t,right in the middle. This is disgusting and hardly a draw for the national park in its first year.

I am suprised it doesn't disgust other people, scraping it off boots, childrens shoes, pram wheels spoils a good walk.
PVB,thank you for the advice,I'm glad you have no idea what my life has been like, good or bad...dog mess has always made me apopleptic.

This sh*tting on Nation park land has got to stop. It's a disgrace. The sooner we get rid of the cattle, sheep and horses the better. Often they just go on the pathway with no thought for anyone.
And rabbits. A hard bit of rabbit poo caught in your sandal is no joke.
Almost forgot the golfers. Get rid of them as they clash with the scenery. And hikers. I live right near a pathway that leads to a South Downs way and sometimes when I'm chilling in my garden I can hear them talk. All boots and haversacks. B*stards.
