Very concerned today to be told by St Andrews that they would not register my mother as a new patient as she will be living in Firle and this is now outside new catchment area?! Interestingly I live in Firle and am registered at St Andrews, as is my husband and at least 9 of my neighbours. When I pointed this out i was told that all Firle patients were going to be written to soon telling them they were now outside the catchment area and would have to.....do what? I could get no answer as to what or where we would have to do - does anyone else know of this new policy?

@Mary. Have you tried to write or email ES Health Trust for a written reply? I would also suggest contacting Maria - she understands these issues very well. Maybe you've done these already but Good luck.
@Intheknow and 'friend'. Does the Fountain of Knowledge not know that over 700 houses are planned to be built in and around Lewes within the next couple of years?
Any Primary school kid could understand that families would actually live in those houses thus increase the population.
You trolling Mary and her mum's problem about a NHS structural reorganization and linking it with people fleeing from everything they own confused me until I sniffed...... Bigotry!
Snoopy says you need a doggy bag & quick - poowee.
Sorry I take ALL that back - you might just be errr,,, 'unaware'

Contact Maria? You are having a laugh surely? What on earth do you think she is going to do? She got the vote and disappeared off to the trough smirking just like all good Tories do. You might hear from her in about 4 years.

Are we likely to listen to a dog that sleeps on top of it's kennel ?

Maria recently proved herself a 'grade A' idiot. Anyone who lives in Barcombe and recently received her unsolicited official letter raging about the lack of Oxygen coverage in the Barcombe area can testify to that. It was pure comedy gold, go Maria! More Oxygen for Barcombe, questions must be asked in the House.

Check out the surgery's map of their catchment area and you'll find that parts of Firle are included (eg Crossways and the addresses near the School) and other parts are excluded. Where's the logic in that? Who drew the map?

Contact the CCG in Friar's Walk. They should be able to let you know which GPs practices have your mother's address in their catchment area.
