Our sewer is full to the brim outside so our toilet won't flush we have spoken to southern water but they said the pumping station is on hydraulic overload so can not deal with anymore and they will not supply a tanker to relieve they system.
I said can we do our toilet into a bucket then pour that into a surface street drain, to wish she said yes that's fine.
Anyone else having trouble going

we had to unblock our drain twice in the last month. Rods soon cleared it. Ladies - do not flush sanitary item down the loo.

Sounds awful. Hopefully, this won't affect us. We live at the top of a hill and we all know which way sh!t rolls, don't we?

I wonder if this is more to do with the fact that the whole water-table and underground system is full to the brim because of the constant rainfall? In that case maybe Southern Water can't actually do anything about it?

It doesn't surprise me that they're so offhand though - my experience is that they really only care about making money. Customers come quite a long way down the pecking order sadly. And it really cannot be right that their advice to you is to chuck your sewage into a street drain, surely???

I see that there is a big tanker lorry down by Eridge Green tonight, so hopefully the residents of Landport will be able to use their lavatories tonight.
It's shocking that this has been going on since Thursday and I hope Southern Water gives them all a big rebate on their exorbitant water bills.
They should have got a portaloo delivered to every property affected imo.

yup the tanker which I asked for and was told was not an option suddenly appeared and took away a least 3 loads.
I did ask Southern Water for a leaflet drop to residents as the manhole out the front did have a few floating towels in there ( Nice)
Cant really moan to much can we, at least we seem to have missed the bulk of the rains unlike surrey and the southwest
