There's one at the bottom of the bridge on Cliffe. You may run the risk of being run over but you will be the centre of attention!

Gary is takin the pss jeff. Sadly all the curry houses are crap. The palin is great at the bottom of station street for thai food. If pubs float your boat the Pelham can be relied on to serve up some top food. Lazzatis on market street is very small but serves up some good nosh (italian). Avoid the White hart at all cost unless you like eating yesterdays food. For well posh grub try either the pelham house (food is done by the circa rersteraunt) on St andrews lane (not sure if the addy is right) or the longroom in the cliffe. (longroom gets a battering on here and seems a tad arty farty) probably left a few out and people may well disagree with the info given, but with any luck some of the more seasoned users here will fill in the gaps (or not as seems postings recently)

I would recommend Si Eatery if you like Italian food (just down from the monument on School Hill), or Lazzati's is very nice too. The Long Room is not bad, although for the price, I'd rather eat at the Pelham Arms (Western Road), which is a pub, but does fantastic food (anything from fresh mussels to steak and guinness pie). Like "Me" said, the Palin restaurant is great for Thai food. If you like Indian food, then try the Shanaz. There's a new tapas restaurant which is opening (may be already open?) where the old Circa used to be, so that could be fun and different for your birthday.
Hope you find somewhere good! Happy early birthday Jeff.

Forget all that. Charcoal Grill is the only place to be seen. Me and my chicks love it.

There is only one restaurant in Lewes... which as a wise member of this organ has already identified as being sited at the foot of The Olde Cliffee Bridgee.
To fuel your imagination I enclose a link to a recent picture of this top quality bistro snapped by my very goodself.

Just a quick reminder to your guests...
DO use the black council rubbish bin provided which can be found near the Argos entrance.
DON'T lean on the black bollards, they have been craftily sited to make life difficult for those dasterdly car drivers.
Above all have a great party.

How could TF possibly comment on a subject of which he/she knows nothing?
What do you mean it doesn't usually stop him/her?
At least he/she has refrained from making his usual racist, bigotted comments and for that we should be grateful.

You don't read many of my posts then, do ya mick? Rather more interesting than your pro queer/brighton football club jibberish. Did they lose again? How many's that? six in a row? If you get Falmer you'll have the best ground in the Conference (south, of course). Must go, got to buy some lego for the kids. Now, where is the nearest Toys R Us.....?

Lazzatis. Not top-end dining but excellent food, friendly service and good value. You don't pay for bow ties, flash fittings or national advertising. You don't feel as if you're in a school dining hall. Staff have a refreshing tendency to answer yes instead of no. Closest we've got to the real (Italian) thing.
