Is there a lawyer on line? I think in the case of the car park not paying is a civil, not a criminal offence. Which means they'd have to take you to the county court if you don't pay and the police wouldn't be involved. If they did take you to court and you lost the case you'd probably be facing the ticket plus costs. But, as I said, maybe a lawyer could confirm this.

they will keep sending you demands, if you dont pay they will clamp your car the fine will keep going up, then if you still dont pay they will tow your car.

Are you sure about that Frankiesgirl? How do they find out where you live? Do DVLA pass on this kind of information to them? Did you read the website I gave details about to see?

Were you ticketed in a private car park, or shop car park or similar?

firstly you pay the fine as paying a fine doesnt imply guilt. you are now able to appeal at your leisure without fear of prosecution.

I got a ticket left on my car from the Euro CarPark people in Tescos car park a couple of years ago (I had parked there virtually all day). I never paid it and never heard from them.
I've had three tickets from the normal Lewes wardens and one from the Brighton lot in the last three years. I appealed them all and didn't have to pay any of them.
