Two of my friends stayed there for a few days a couple of years ago, and they were very happy. I didn't go inside, but met the owner, who seemed very pleasant and welcoming. Hope this is some help.

If you go into the Tourist Information Office, 187 High St, they have a list of approved and inspected accommodation in the area, and can often book it for you (if you attend in person). Also, there's the Lewes b&b guide found in some outlets in the town. Separate scheme but still gives a choice.

The tourist information office only carries information about B&Bs who have joined their (very very expensive) scheme, so as far as I know visitors come away believing that there are only two or three in the whole of Lewes.

1 Harveys Way is part of the Lewes B&B group, and as such is inspected annually by a hotel inspector and has to offer good quality accommodation at a fair price - and I'm sure it does. The brochure that Shardlake refers to is replicated online and there are something like 40 B&Bs in and around Lewes represented there. Book it and post a review if you like it - which I'm sure you will!

B&Bs advertise in the Lady (fine publication and ideal for Lewes/East Sussex B&Bs) and do your own promoting, very easy to do. Best Peter
