Does anyone remember the Lewes band Oakenlode, or if the band survived in any form?

I remember the name but that's about it.
What about Piranhas though. I think they had only one Lewes member. I think the rest were from Brighton.
I saw them at the Lamb pub and at Landport community centre. they were really good. Similar sound to madness but rougher and quite a few years earlier.

Don't remember Piranhas, but remember a band made it into the UK charts with Jeremy Bird from Lewes in it. Song was Poison Ivy. Would have been early 80's

The Lambrettas. Jez does his thing around the pubs still.

The lead singer of the piranhas was "boring" Bob Grover and their biggest hit was Tom Hark.
Bob still drinks in the pubs around Hanover in Brighton.

Jez was Jeremy at primary school! One of the band members of Oakenlode was Doug Sanders, local lad from around south street.

Yes - I remember Oakenlode. Early Seventies. Dougie Saunders who later played guitar in the Piranhas was in them I think

Doug and I were the guitarist in Oakenlode. We had graham frost on bass and vocals and Bob Palmer on drums.
The good news is that Graham and I are in the process of putting a band together - after all these years. We'll be playing hard and fast R&B (real R&B)
Doug lives in Cooksbridge and has a pop band called Zen House
