I wrote to Norman Baker a few weeks ago to find out what was happening to Newhaven Arm. His secretary wrote back saying that he will reply shortly, guess what! I have heard nothing. Perhaps someone with up to date information will enlighten me or have the French stuck two fingers up to us.

Far be it for me to defend Norman but I have found him to be rather good at answering mail, usually taking a few weeks. In fairness MP's must get a lot of mail and before they can answer they have to get the answer to the question from some civil servant, that I imagine must in itself be time consuming.

I dont think anyone is interested Pope unless sticking up for Norman Baker is helpful. Typical British, sit back let the French have their own way and then winge afterwards. Newhaven Arm was one of the finest places for family recreation ie fishing, swimming and generally relaxing but hey ho! who cares?

After the shocking Lewes District Council election result last on 6 May, Norman Baker's body language at the count said it all. The departure lounge must be where he is now heading.
