Check to see if they will do a free retest, or you may end up paying twice if it fails on something, as older cars often do. I have not used them myself.

I had my mot test done at Halfords and found the service brilliant. If your car is going to fail on something silly like windscreen wipers or a bulb they will change it rather than fail your car. My car was about 9 years old at the time (not sure if you class this as old!). If it needs anything more complicated they will phone you and ask if you want it done.

I would never go to to Halfords again. I have had several bad experiences there.

What on earth are you doing, traveling all that way for an MoT? Just MoT's is just on your doorstep, and they will replace a bulb or wiper to pass a vehicle. If you book on-line in advance, it's really cheap (I think as low as £10).

Just Mots are pretty good. I have used them for the last few years.

Thanks for your update Zippy I used to book 90 days in advance and get it for £19 but little short on notice this year so its £39 online or £49 at the door hence why I was tempted by Halfords

I have used Just MoT's for my two vehicles for years. They are totally genuine and helpful. Book online and pay £38.
Erm, @ wanderer, when did you get one for £19?
