Medic - you never shared with me the conclusive evidence on that I asked for on the other thread. These are some conclusions upon a cursory search in the link below. This doesn't come across as particularly alarming, and demonstrates some neuroprotectivity effects for head trauma and stroke patients for consuming cannabis.

I don't think we have a great deal to be concerned about with cannabis in the grand scheme of things. Sure, if you already have a pre-existing and dangerous heart condition, I'm not sure anyone is recommending you smoke cannabis, but that would apply to many things in life - drugs (inc alcohol, tobacco and caffeine), certain foods and other activities.

As someone else said, if I had kids I would avoid the stuff...and before you get on your soapbox again, I would also avoid nicotine and excessive alcohol.

A bogus link to a 2009 study where you have to purchase and download the files? Other than a 1 paragraph summary. Hmmm.

I don't blow smoke into childrens faces! I never vapourise around children either. I wouldn't particularly suggest anyone doing so, just seems like an opportunity to troll. Personal attacks are pointless, and only make you look worse.

As for the children comment, my point is you are increasing your risks of CV events, thereby potentially increasing the likelihood of an early death. You may or may not care but I am sure your children would.

The risks of vaping cannabis 2 or 3 times a week is hardly likely to cause any risk to my personal health. If anything, having fun and pleasures in life would more than offset any risk associated by such small quantities of vapourising. Demonising one substance for the sake of it, and not putting it into any context by the risk factors being so low, just seems a waste of words.

Vaporising children - excellent idea. But what the hell is an 'ex graduate'? Surely once you've graduated you're a graduate, before then you're not. Unless you're talking about Dustin Hoffman of course.

You're just talking to yourself, for the love of God man give it a rest will you? You're awfully fond of the terms "Bully" and "Troll" but constantly derailing threads is the classic hallmark of trolling behaviour which is what you do to every thread you post in. At this point I genuinely can't tell if you're doing it deliberately as part of an extended trolling campaign or if you're just a bit simple and oblivious to your rank hypocrisy but either way it's getting really old now, at least our other bores like Paul Newman have the good grace to shut up for a few days now and then.

Nobody cares if you smoke weed, you live in Lewes, everyone smokes weed. If you are just trolling, at least put some imagination into it and try to be vaguely funny while you're doing it. You're like a stuck record playing the most boring song ever written.

Cue "I have as much right to be boring as anyone and I enjoy sparring with people post" from Captain Oblivious.

Err, I'm derailing a thread about cannabis, by talking about it?! Uh huh.

If other people on here wish to draw me into a discussion about it, then I'm not talking to myself. But if you dislike my posts, then please ignore me. Its really not hard to do, even if there is no functionality to literally ignore posters on this forum. Look the other way. I get the message that you dislike me (good on you for being angry at online strangers), but thats your problem, not mine.

Genuine question Pedro. Whilst I totally agree with your argument for decriminalising cannabis, could we concede that there are very powerful Skunk strains that could be linked to psychosis in some users? We probably don't share the same political alignment but you talk sense on drugs, including alcohol. Having abused both during my life time I can tell you that I'm a much more sociable person after a smoke of Thai Stick but sometimes a complete moron on alcohol. I know which people I'd prefer to socialise with and it's certainly not drinkers who get aggressive after one too many.

Hi "not a criminal" - I've not personally come across these powerful strains of skunk, and while there may be some links, nothing has been conclusive in linking them directly to psychosis. It seems only three ways to acquire cannabis in the UK - 1/ either grow it yourself, where you have full control over it, 2/ buy it off someone you know well that grows it and you can trust (my current method), or 3/ buy it off the black market, where dealers may not all be sons of satan, but surely some dealers will not have the best interests of the health of their customers, and instead want to focus on getting them the most potent product with the biggest buzz.

All three options remain illegal here, although the risks for personal consumption or even home-growing a plant or two isn't going to be something the police will be that interested in. However, if cannabis was de-criminalised, and fully legalised and sold both for recreational and medicinal purposes, it would certainly cause a problem for the black market and significantly dent and reduce it (and potentially reduce crime overall, as it has done in the US states that have legalised weed). A regulated supply of cannabis isn't going to be the demonic hardcore street skunk laced with heroin that criminal dealers may sell. The very fact this black market exists with unregulated and untested supplies of drugs, makes legalisation all the more rational.

Legalisation of cannabis or not, it will never be a drug that poses as many problems for society and peoples health that tobacco or alcohol does. I think the majority of people on here know this and accept it, and that same principle would apply to a range of other drugs like LSD, ecstasy and magic mushrooms as well (which also happen to not be addictive). We can either have a sensible grown up discussion around all drugs and their potential for medical therapies, pleasures as well as their side effects, or we choose ignorance and lose our heads at the heavily publicized death of someone like Leah Betts, and ignore the real substance problems that kills thousands every year, from the bad choice of legal drugs available that require far more caution upon use.
