Look what I found. This is what happens when private parking companies decide to get nasty. I recall that there was a thread about this a year or so ago, when One Parking Solution Ltd took this woman to court. She won. Now One Parking Solution has had the judgment overturned by using an expensive barrister in the county court. Just look what the unfortunate woman has been left with. I found this on the Argus website and a fundraiser has been set up to help. There is a link to the gofundme page and the whole story at the end. I know that lots of people are having problems with this parking company.

It's criminal behaviour. Legalised crime. On Bonfire Night about 5 years ago, I took my secateurs out with me in my pocket and cut the power supply to the camera. It was a bit of a nuisance having secateurs in my pocket all night. I was full of Whiskey as well as we won't be druv spirit. It was fixed within two weeks. Tell no one this news! It's a secret.

That was illegal virtue, Mark. Norma obviously needs help and crowd funding seems the only solution. Giving £4k to those greedy parasites really sticks in my craw though. We are enmeshed in the system of contract legalities of which most are unaware. Common Law takes precedence over contract law in England and we must find a way to return it to our courts. They have been taken over by the Law Society which is just a business corporation making money. Unfortunately our birth certificate name in CAPITAL LETTERS is the name of our personal corporation. This has not been disclosed to us, which makes it void in contractual matters but unless we go into court as a man, male or female, we can't use it. Legal is not necessarily Lawful as I'm finding out.

That is for sure Tom Pain - no-one likes to give these bullies money. We did try crowdfunding for a barrister to appeal the overturned decision, but could not raise enough funds in the short time we had. The cost is eye-watering and the possible ££££ if lose at that stage would be even nore crippling. Such a poor system weighted against anyone who is not affluent. A most dreadful situation. The law is changing what parking companies can and cannot do. As always new legislation moves at a snails pace, or slower. Once the new legislation is out it will help thousands upon thousands of people caught. It won't though help people now or in retrospect. Such a mess. All we can do is support eachother and shine a big light on the issues. In the unlikely event that the gofundme campaign reaches its limit any excess funds will go to help other motorists. OPS think that they have won, but in fact they have lost because they will not recover all they have paid out and also they are seen in a worse light - if that is even possible.

Please, I urge you to look at this link so that when it is open you can participate by giving your input to further government consultation. The last time the consultation was put out during an earlier stage, the private parking companies waited until the very last minute and then got all their buddies to flood the consultation in the parking companies favour of course. It was however blantantly obvious. If you are so inclined to help motorists including yourself, I would encourage you to also share the link below which will take you to the government website to read more and be ready for the consultation. Share it far and wide. I will share an update when the consultation is open. There is power in banding together.

It's like tax havens, any legislation will be full of loopholes. The government is there to protect the people who own these businesses. Consider this fact- April had the lowest mortality figures since records began. Has the government or the complicit press informed you of this? Have they relaxed the unconstitutional, unlawful covid restrictions? Do you think they can be trusted to do anything to your benefit? It's time to wake up before all your rights are liquidated not beg them to enact another piece of dodgy legislation.

Tom Pain, This new legislation has the significant input of people (not government employees) who help motorists fight these unfair charges. The private parking companies have fought tooth and nail against these changes, but they are a-comin'.

If you are interested in reigning in the private parking companies, then please do consider giving your input to the government consultation. You can check it out on the link I gave above and then please keep your eyes peeled for that consultation, by going back to the Government pages and seeing if there is an update with a live consultation link. I will also post the live consultation link as soon as I get it.
It really will be excellent news for motorists, but it needs the input of the public because the private parking companies will once again get their buddies to flood the consultation at the last minute and in their favour. We need genuine people to help get this bill through and put a stop to this highway robbery. I always say 'At least Dick Turpin wore a mask'.
In the meantime, here is another link to what has already happened in this consultation.

Let's hope for a slight improvement, but it's still contract law which we are tricked into by stealth. Corporations have their rules which is all well and good but if you are not involved in business with them they should not apply to you. This situation should be brought to public notice and remedied, in fact it is an egregious wrong that government turns a blind eye to.

I agree with what you have said. Even when some PPCs have been found not to have a contract properly signed, nor have signed landowner authority, they still often get away with it. Let's just say that there is more than one way to tackle this issue. For now though, if you can share the consultation link and also if you are minded to do so, also the fundraising link. The fundraiser is a lot short of the goal. Let's keep sharing information and supporting eachother.
