Latest advise on a certain other local forum site is not to 'look for holes to dig in other people's posts...... Not a group for having arguments'. Sounds like you can get away with saying any old cobblers there. Why do you waste your time on this site Tom? Tell them all about the 'EU neo liberal project' basil. You can be sure you won't get me asking any difficult questions about anything you say.
Sorry folks. Noone else to talk to at the moment. Roast me.

So why not come up with something interesting Nev and maybe have a debate on here?

Nevillman, I assume you are from the Nevill estate so maybe you can answer a question for me. Is there still an element of snobbery depending on where you live on the Nevill? I recall an elderly friend of mine, who moved away from Nevill some 25 years ago always used to say they came from the Downs side (a bit like “Hove actually”) which apparently was the posh side. Is that still true today?

What I find problematical is that when you do try to engage with Nev and answer his questions he disappears and starts another post wondering why you post on this forum!

Once again I'm afraid Tom I don't know what you are talking about. I've made loads of posts on all sorts of subjects and anyone can come back and challenge me on any point and from that a discussion ensues. Please go ahead and make a statement about something andi will come back on that which I think has happened a few times.
A forum like this is a perfect place for a discussion. Face to face can be good but too often people don't listen as they are too busy coming up with their response. On here you can look at a reply more carefully and consider if and what that will be your response.
I have never seen or heard of any snobbery among people on the nevill estate.

Tom has always been confusing. "This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedivere. Explain again how sheeps bladders may be employed to prevent dust mites." That sort of thing. (Monty Python reference... may be lost on some...)

To say something that will be lost on anyone who doesn't know the script of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by heart. It looks like 4 forum readers do.

On the subject of free speech,a popular chestnut around here. There are many ways to curtail it ,the least effective is banning it. One of the best is to smother it in pointless questions and make fun of it. Here we are under virtual house arrest and hardly anyone is posting on the forum where at least you can communicate with random strangers,if not actually talk. I can see why no one bothers. Anything you say is immediately snowed under with pointless questions and ludicrous inferences, not forgetting the perennial I don't understand. I'm afraid my boredom threshold has got the better of me and I can't be bothered any more.

Love the open invitation! It's great to see a space where people can freely share their thoughts. Looking forward to hearing... more
