I'm sure I heard it was a three day xmas shopping event this year. Does that mean its 3 nights of late night shopping and closed off streets ? I do like a closed off street !
Anyone from chamber of commerce able to confirm ?

No doubt this will be another burden for the good people of Lewes to bear. Road closures, drunken teenagers, silly string, wanton commercialism, Commercial fireworksisms, mulled wine and spiced Oranges, good cheer and litter.
Is it true that the Rotary Club of Lewes get together with The Lewes Orange Order to burn an effigy of Santa Claus in the precinct and then throw him off Cliffe bridge ?
Surely this kind of thing needs to be consigned to history as a tradition of the past and banned alltogether.

@Brixtonbelle. There are events planned over the three days (1st to 3rd). And this year the charity collection will benefit Malling Community Centre, The Linklater Pavilion and St Mary's Social Centre.

Looking forward to the lack of parking and the massive queues due to bad organisation. There's no need what so ever to close the high street off, whoever heard of a shopping event where they reduce the parking? From the junction to cliffe is pedestrianised plenty of room for events, musicians, food vendors..... Instead residents who return from work have to put up with stupid traffic at a standstill just to get home. This by the way puts none of us in a mood for shopping.
