see they're 'in administration' again. Shame as they've friendly, local & loyal staff (one of the few to open in the snow) + they sell those really good bakewell flapjacks - don't want to lose them either

Well, good as they were a lot of their health products were available online for lots less. Thats the problem, the High St seems dependent on people and service related businesses, as products are the domain of online retailers now.
Good luck Lewes businesses, customers are always right and they wish they could buy from you but wont pay the premiums. Everybody gets the High St they pay for and deserve.

That's a shame. I'm a frequent shopper for baking supplies and I'll miss them a lot if they go. Another shop in the precinct too: sad.

I've often gone in there, but never bought anything. Most of the stuff is just massively expensive.

As SQ says, it's a good place to buy herbs and spices cheaply. Better stock up! Joyce_55, I wish you all the best, and hope the shop stays open. I wonder how much the rent and rates have to do with the decision to close, as with Stead and Simpson.

YARGH!
They stopped stocking the things I went in there to buy. So I sailed on a different compass.

Neville shop has spices half the price that JG charge. They will get in anything you ask for.

It's a bit stupid to be right next door to Holland & Barrett, especially as they do so many 2 for 1's etc. Does Lewes really need three specialist health food shops (there is one in Cliff High Street too) plus whatever Tesco, Waitrose, & Boots selll ?
