Yes you can get Freeview. I live about half way up and I need a booster (one from Argos will do). If you live at the top you shouldn't need one. I think digital signals work best when there is an uninterrupted 'line of sight' between the transmitter (Heathfield) and your arial. Wallands school is in the way for me but the booster overcomes this. Hope this helps.

I'm in Nevill quite near the top and dont need a booster. Make sure your aerial points towards Heathfiled!

Aerials in Lewes basically point one of two ways. Either towards the main transmitter at Heathfield, which broadcasts freeview, or the local transmitter which doesn't yet. It will do one day of course but there is no set date.
Boosters do help a bit, but make sure you get a digital compatible one.
Also don't believe all that rubbish about "Digital Aerials". Mine is at least 20 years old and picks up freeview fine.

Why should we get Sky ?
All I want to watch is on freeview and I have the option of using a top up card if required.

Sky is for people who dont have anything interesting to do with their lives other than watch TV. The more channels you get, the more cr@p there is to choose from. Also, judging by a lot of the people I know who have Sky, P.A.no seems to have got his comment the wrong way round.

You can still get sport on freeview with a top up card.
No fixed term contracts either

My only option has ever been sky, freeview has only just arrived and is minimal at the moment. Sky is expensive and we find we still surf looking for something decent. The documentary channels are good if you aren't selective, and the odd movie, but generally it's still crap, unless you are into sport.

Watching television is almost a total waste of time. It's virtually all junk and quite a lot of it is just plain damaging, at its best stupefying and stultifying, and at it's worst a form of mind control for the masses.
