On saturday we retrieved 13 shopping trolleys from the river behind Waitrose. After a meeting with LDC today, Waitrose have now agreed to come back to LDC in 28 days with a proposal to secure their trolleys. Immediately they are refitting all their trolleys with new handles with a phone number on them asking people to report them lost if they've gone astray and they are now also operating a trolley collection routine. Also they have agreed to pay a £600 fine for the 8 trolleys which were picked up off the street under LDCs new regime of fining supermarkets for trolleys littering the town, previously they were refusing to pay up.
Next clean up day to be announced soon.

Good work!
I spotted two women up by the war memorial only last week pushing Waitrose shopping trolleys around. Bet they didn't find their way back!

Ha ha ha. That's brilliant. What a result. And well done Tescos for bringing us so much lovely food and Red Bull... and Harveys for the barrel of beer of course, And not forgetting Sussex Skips for the skip.

Looking forward to the next one.

I like BONFIRE NIGHT, and of course all the out-meetings which go on around this time - and the loud bang at the crack of dawn!
