Otherwise if you paddle the River Cuckmere you'll end up at Cuckmere Haven (not a bad place to end upl). I'm not too sure where you'd start though (somewhere still tidal I guess otherwise kayaking is not legal).
Best to paddle towards the sea when the tide is going out. You move a lot quicker!

Yes it is allowed as long as you don't go past The Anchor at Barcombe

Easy if you're with the tide. Set off about 1 hour before newhaven high tide. If you want to go back as well then leave it a little later. The reeds near alfriston are quite well grown so you have to fight through
