On Tuesday, I took advantage of the good weather and hung loads of freshly laundered sheets on the line. When I got home from work, some kind neighbour had lit an evil smelling bonfire and they were shrouded in smoke.
When I brought them in, they smelt like the front bar of the Lewes Arms on a busy Friday night in in the days before the smoking ban. I washed them again and hung them out this morning, they smell lovely now!
Where I used live, they had a byelaw prohibiting bonfires being lit before 7pm or sunset, whichever was later.
