Reading the Times yesterday it said that parking wardens in London can't give a ticket unless they have their hat on. Does this apply in Lewes? If not it should as I would take great delight designing them a lovely hat with spikes on the inside of it.

OOh- the venom! They're just doing their job. They always look happy to me despite everyone's dislike for them. Just don't park where you shouldn't i guess- unless you know something i don't???

A google says: 'The Department for Transport guidance circular 1/95 says when carrying out prescribed functions, and issuing a PCN is one such, [parking attendants] are subject to the Parking Attendants (Wearing of Uniforms) (London) regulations 1993.
The National Parking Adjudication Service says that, in view of circular 1/95 PAs should wear hats during enforcement activity, but goes on to say that a PA not wearing headgear would not in itself be grounds for an appeal but could be considered as part of an appeal. The adjudicator would have to give it the importance he thought relevant to the case.'

Okay, lets all ring up tomorrow and demand that they wear their hats. If you get a ticket phone up and demand to see that they were in full uniform when the ticket was given out. Having said that their with there odd shaped heads the hats would have to be a very strange shape to fit their large foreheads.
Why do people stick up for these people? It is not a job, it is a way to keep the enemployable of the unemployment figures. Would you employ any of them in your business or company?

My uncle is a sikh conehead and a parking warden. Is he covered by the Parking Attendants (Wearing of Uniforms) (London) regulations 1993?
