I was in the garden of the kings head yesterday evening. The sky was clear, the evening quiet and the castle was highlighted on the horizon. Just think how much nicer it would look if it was lit (pregerably in blue and yellow) how it would stand out for mikes. I srarted thinking would those who felt the same be prepared to contribute to bringing this about.

No, there's too much light pollution in the town anyway, you can't see the night sky in this part of the world which is a loss.

Quite happy for you to pay for it Deckard, but also support Dave in that there's already too much light pollution.

Whilst it sounds like a nice idea, I'm not that bothered about it standing out for me. Maybe on my birthday though?

Shove a wind turbine where the flag is and use it to power the illuminations.

Why illuminate it, we all know what it looks like? Surely their are better things to spend the money on?!

Now that the place has been ruined by the visitors centre (or whatever it is), is there any point in drawing the place to people's attention?

Exactly what it looks like. When you think the building has stood there for centuries and then it takes a few weeks work to spoil it.

I'm sure I can recall it being floodlit at night. It looked rather nice, but I'm not sure it needs any more than that.
