Why on earth are pubs still open ? With everything about social distancing and that it’s a joke, I understand that the pubs will lose massive amounts of money or even go out of business but surely common sense is needed.
Ireland closed all its pubs before St Patrick’s Day but then Ireland has taken things seriously unlike buffoon Boris.

It’s likely down to insurance. Shut without a govt. directive and the insurer will not pay for business interruption. If they wait and are told they’re likely to be able to claim.

Hopefully the pub and restaurant owners will now get some insurance. However I expect the government will have to bail out the insurance companies in their turn. We are paying a high price and will be for years - lets hope it works.
