There's something ironic, or is it paraxdoxical, in criticising Johnson for being a supporter of neo-liberalism when the EU itself is a neo-liberal project, one which the City and the banks told us to vote for in 2016. Neo-liberalism, like capitalism, has its different wings with different interests, but don't let's delude ourselves that the EU represents an alternative.

Of course not, Basil. If I had been old enough to vote at the time of the original referendum on the EEC I would have voted No. However, times have changed. The UK has no manufacturing base now. Our economy is all geared up to provide financial services within the EU. It's the only robust and thriving industry that we have. There's nothing left when that door shuts.

Neo liberalism as I understand it, is capitalism but with less government regulation so allowing the capitalists free rein. Basil, the EU is Pro capitalist but not particularly neo liberal. I thought one of the main arguments against it was to get rid of all the regulation in fact. If you don't think that the UK under Johnson without the EU is going to become considerably more neo liberal I think you are in for a nasty shock.
Why we we writing this on a thread about a window.?
