I really don't get why you all have such a downer on her, but then I suppose we have quite similar views. I sometimes wonder if it's that old male discomfort when confronted by women with brains and opinions though.

The person you are posting about is very well-informed, and I have often noticed him/her to give sensitive and helpful advice to people. What is the matter with you whingers? Could it be that you are jealous? Certainly, I wish I were equally intelligent and erudite, but I am not, so never mind, I still enjoy my life in my limited way, and appreciate what wiser people can contribute.

That's the trouble Blip. I don't believe SQ is so well informed. the majority of the information comes from the internet. When he comes up against someone with practical experience of a subject he disapears into the background. Granted, he has a better command of English than me, but then so have most liberal academics.

You know how funny that is, don't you Country Boy? Where do get 'information' from other than an 'information' source? Or do you conjure it up from nowhere? AKA 'making it up'.

I probably didn't make myself clear and that is where SQ is better at this than me. To me, being "well informed" means having knowledge and experience. So many people today think they know it all, simply because information is so easy to come by via the internet. You can't beat experience. Further, much of what SQ preaches (and lets be honest here, he is very patronising) is politically biased, so it is one sided to say the least.

By which I assume you mean, Country Boy, 'has a point of view'. And you probably also mean 'Has a point of view I disagree with.' You remind me of one of those unfortunate people who either did not have the opportunity for an education or, if they did, wasted the opportunity. They spend the rest of their lives telling everyone 'Education, waste of time. University of life, that's where I learned everything I know.' And doesn't it always show.

Yeah, agreed again Clifford, I sometimes wish I wasn't as liberal minded as I am, its becoming a bit of a chore having to tolerate Country Boy/Bruce Willis etc. and her girlfriends, and their ilk, to impart 'their' silly opinions, which rarely amount to more than a bitching.

Liberalism: Handy catch-all term used by those like Boris to tar a whole range of outlooks with one brush so don't have to bother with thinking and can continue to take comfort in sneering at those that they fear are intellectuality superior to them.
Only someone with as limited an outlook, and as small minded and bigoted as Boris could confuse liberalism with supporting rent payments for Arthur Scargill's flat.
Idiot.
