There are *LOADS* of brilliant walks! On this side of town, there's the Priory/Convent Field, which is busiest when the schools let out but is popular any time. You can combine that with a walk on the Railway Land by crossing the pedestrian bridge into South Downs College land, up Mountfield Road to the football ground and left into Priory.

There's the downs by the racecourse and on to Black Cap/Chalk Pit - access to those walks is from Firle Crescent or Highdown Road, depending on which field has sheep in it.

And there's my favourite walk, up to the windmill and then on to the South Downs Way above Kingston - that's up Juggs Road from the Swan pub in Southover. Juggs Road turns into a track and then a path across the windmill field.

Landport Bottom, up behind the Nevill. Starting from there, there are loads of lovely walks. You can do a short circular walk from Firle Crescent, across the motor road, and down the other side, go a bit further and through the woods, round the top of the chalk pit and down to the allotments, go down through the valley behind the Blacksmiths to Offham and back up through the chalk pits, up to Black Cap, carry on to Ditchling Beacon, or go round the old racecourse.
Another favourite is over the golf course to Glynde, which has the option of a train back for the less energetic.
