Then why is this Government trying rush through a law that say's they would no longer require the permission of a householder to excavate or drill underneath their property?

So someone can steal it, Duh ! Then your house develops problems and the insurance companies do not cover these types of claims, so you'll have to use the Civil Courts. Good Luck with that one then !

Insurance companies refuse to cover homeowners for any damage caused by fracking... and even worse they refuse to insure fracking companies for any problems they cause! So, when the depleted, capped wells they leave start to leak (as, in time they all will) and methane and fracking fluid migrate to the surface and the aquifer they'll not clean them up... the taxpayer will.

Add this to the fact that the drilling companies will get rich, as will the utilities who sell the cheaper gas to the continent via the various European pipelines, whilst our energy bill will not reduce, and the UK public are beginning to look like a right load of mugs.

Unlike in America, it is not the home owner who owns the mineral rights beneath their houses, it is the crown, you do, however, own the land to the centre of the earth below your house- so yechnically any damage to it by fracking can be traced to the company. So, if you want to put a stop to Dave selling licences to frack under your house, get onto the queen or Charlie (who is a tree hugger), the only problem is that the queen is a bit short of cash this year (poor love) so may need the income.
