People who know little sometimes slag off bonfire as anachronism and something well past it's sell by date. Those involved know how much societies do for the town to make it what it is, not always visibly so. Where it is visible though is the fairs each year which are outstanding public, community events. From Waterloo fete, to the excellent Southover May Fayre, Lewes Live, the Proms in the Paddock and Nevill today they help make the town the vibrant, diverse place it is. Well done all of you.

Guy as much as I am impressed with your detailed argument as to why you are against community spirited events. I am curious as to if you have actually been to any???
