Weekend London flat swap

I have a very comfortable flat in a mansion block in St Johns Wood, near to the Abbey Road Studios, Lords, restaurants and pubs and ten minutes from the West End. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with the usual creature comforts.
I like coastal walking and wondered if anyone in Lewes would want, periodically, to do a weekend flat/house swap. I would have the benefit of the Sussex countryside, you would have the benefit of all that London has to offer and neither of us would incur any accommodation expenses. My flat would be suitable for a n/s single person or couple. Im afraid I could not accommodate children. If you are interested please get in touch.

Hi Ed
What a fantastic idea! I have a lovely 1 bedroom cottage inthe heart of Lewes - Cliffe High Street. It is just along from Bills, near some great pubs with the Downs on your door step. The cottage has a south facing garden, usual mod cons and is very quiet, as is tucked behind a book shop.
I am very interested in having a chat. Give me an email and we can swop phone numbers...
All the best Jackie

I found an interesting website yesterday.Couchsurfers.
I usually 'Wwoof' in the summer months (Willing workers on Organic Farms) You swap your various talents,be it gardening, cooking or web help, for accomodation and food.Spain,France,Portugal are my usual haunts.Food is usually fantastic, home grown veggies in abundance, and I have met some lovely folk on my travels.Couchsurfers was a link on my Wwoofing website, and it is basically folk who are travelling around and need accomodation for a short while. No money exchanges hands. You can say you have a 'couch',and people get in touch with you.Or you with them. But the interesting thing is,you can join 'groups'.One of them is house/flat swapping, where you say what you have, and get in touch with others who have similar properties. For a break.I am now a couchsurfer in Spain,Portugal,France and Amsterdam. This seems to be a worldwide affair, and it is a bit like Facebook,in as much as you make friends, and vouch for each other, but it covers all age groups, and all sorts of people. And it seems 'safe'.
House/flat swapping seems very popular,and I may have a go.Check it out.

Good to hear from you.
Judging by the other replies Lewes has some interesting characters.
Please contact me on [email protected] and we can talk further.
