I've just received a letter from the conservative party signed by Boris Johnson asking me to complete a survey on where I think the priorities for the NHS are. I don't know who else has received this letter but I rather hope that the NHS has more sophisticated methods for determining this. Answering questions like "we're investing billions extra in the our NHS. We're able to do this because of the tough decisions we've taken together, as a country. How strongly do you agree that this investment is the right thing to do?" smell a little bit of bs. My views and experiences as a 29 year old single mother should be properly considered but this is blatant electioneering masquerading as a serious survey. That it can come supposedly signed by the prime minister is scandalous.

Surely it's more scandalous that Boris wants an election but the other party leaders don't have the stomach for it.

Ah Yes, and today Corbyn is whingeing that the Queens Speech is a cynical stunt (be careful how you say that!)

He's not always entirely truthful. Public debt as a percentage of GDP has been increasing steadily all through the period of "austerity".

Its pretty much beyond reasonable doubt that dishonesty is a character "trait" of Boris Johnson. Some willingly accept and even celebrate this, where as I personally think its a deep flaw. Meh - voting for despicable liars is for MAGA types in my opinion, and I find it remarkable that people would idolise such abuse of power, reality and truth.

Much like recent surveys on Maria Caulfield's website, this isn't electioneering so much as it is data mining, trying to scrape up as much personal information on the electorate as possible oin order to target advertising spending, Cambridge Analytica style. Basically don't fill it in, or at least not with real answers...
