Hello locals, I really hope somebody can help me. A few years ago I went to a fabulous party held by Oyster Lingereie in what I now believe to be the foundry gallery, on a local industrial estate. I have never forgotten it, as it was so beautifully decorated but set in a really rough space. I'm looking to create exactly the same thing for my wedding next year, but have come hugely unstuck! Nothing seems to exist, and I really don't fancy a local barn or hotel. Does anyone know of such a place locally or infact anywhere is Sussex? I have heard of zu studios but I would love something a little more industrial that I can dress in wedding decor. An empty warehouse, hanger, lock up??? Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

There's a super new building called Yurupuranus on the corner of Landsdowne Place and Station Street, opposite the Landsdowne Arms. Contact Lewes Council for bookings.
Good luck with your quest.

I don't know why you have to be so cruel, my family have had a really tough year and I wanted to give everyone something different and lovely to look forward to... You should be ashamed of yourself.

I do really need to find somewhere so I will try it without the frills and with the sob story...
I'm looking for an industrial unit of some description to hold a wedding next year. I don't have a lot of cash as my man training to be a paramedic has had 4 months unpaid off of work as he had a kidney transplant. I can't afford a 4000 wedding venue but I once went to a party that was in a great location that I think I can afford to achieve the same thing. I'm a prop maker so I guess it's not too hard. I did look at zu studios but it's over a few floors and my dad is servely disabled so an industrial unit may be better as it will have a lift or be on one floor. Any point in the right direction would be amazing. Thank you nice people of Lewes.
Sometimes people find it easier to make a jolly out of something, it's no reason to think they are up their own arse.

We had our reception at the Malling Community Centre or whatever it's called. Not glamorous but we did our own decorations etc. it's a lot cheaper than hiring a nice pub I seem to remember and it has a playground for kids outside. Just a thought.

How about looking at Newhaven ? Much of the Phoenix is likely to be demolished by next year if Santon get their way and many of the leases have been terminated. The big wharf side building of the UTC might be renting out their school hall ?? It would have the industrial vibe you're after... The other place is the Tin tabernacle in Barcombe

The King's Church building in Brooks Road was a largish industrial unit before conversion and the main hall is one big open space. Not exactly rough though - pretty nice!
