Anybody know the outcome of the closure of Wards in the town. There were talks of a potential buyers? Would be a huge loss if it goes - another local business.

Where is Wards and what does it sell?

It sells men's clothes ( if you like the sort of outfits that light entertainers wear, snazzy and smart) and school uniforms, at top of hill. Huge loss, not sure about that but still a shame as I'm sure that a lot of older gents shopped there.
More to the point as Intersport are now the only shop to stock school uniform is it true that they are moving to larger premises?

Is it true they are taking the Woolworths site?

I've noticed that pretty much all of Wards' stock of white bonfire boy trousers has been sold already.

With any luck, the expanded Tesco will stock school uniform items so you'll only have to buy the official tie and jumper or whatever from Intersport.

*stir, stir*

Well someone is working on the old Woolworth site today.
What with that, tourists sitting outside poncy "french" newsagent (have you tried to buy a newspaper from that shop) in between cars and vans that new pedestrianized bit of Cliffe is working really well. What a chaotic mess

ED......Tescos already do stock the school uniform bits. Unfortunately, they only do them in the bigger stores so i have to drive to Shoreham to buy them. Bloody ridiculous innit.

You seem to go through a lot of uniforms spongy. Do you get expelled often? Surprised they do your size.
Trevor, I find that I can buy newspapers and smokes easily from the 'newsagent' in Cliffe. What is the problem? I find that the golden virginia tastes much more up-market now.
I hope that Woollies ends up as a Primark or similar. Then that might shut up Spongey and his 'can't get no blokes pants in Lewes for under a £1' rants.

Mystic Meg, I find it a bit of a battle to get the paper whilst being careful not to spill someones butternut squash soup, plus my special supplement is always missing or the nervous women who serves me cant find the price . Mind you a vast improvement on the smelly, pervy shop it was previously.

We are a local online school uniform supplier and we would be more than happy to stock official uniform for schools which Wards used to supply. We are up to 30% cheaper than the High Street and deliver next day. Anyone interested, please get in touch.
