Hi Folks, Have a date with a charming lady this evening and wondered if you could suggest the best ale house that serves food, should know but never eat in pubs, presume my 'companian' will want too eat. Cheers. PS Heavy night last night, apologies if I was a Cad to anyone (hides under Fedora)

Peter B, if you're taking the 'charming lady' to a pub for dinner I doubt if you'll be going out with her for long.

Well don't turn up drunk !

The Lewes Arms grub is very good and well priced. Or try the Pelham Arms. If you want somewhere a little more formal, but still lovely, try the Pelham House Hotel.

If you wanted to go a little further afield you could try the Horns Lodge in South Chailey. The food is good and sensibly priced. Very good ales as well.

My God where have I been? Never realised the dining establishments were so plentiful in our wonderful region. I am nearer to Firle and rarely eat out although I DO know of all the drinking venues, well my dear friends let the evening begin, one hour until 'lift off' and I am ready to enjoy the evening ahead. Tabac by Miller Harris has saved the day, Vienna's p....d everywhere the beast. Good evening my Lewes friends. Will report all in the morning I assure you. Thank you too, Toque and Mark for your valued recommendations.

Dont cr@p on your own doorstep - take her out of Lewes. Take her to try the fine food and Harveys at the Half Moon in Plumpton - it really is good now the new (Dec '09) owners have sorted it out - locally sourced food (they even show food miles on the menu!) is excellent. Taxi's a tenner or get the 166!

Oh Gazeebo, If only I could have crapped on my own doorstep, it would jave been preferable to the humiliation I have encountered this evening my boy. Will explain all later. Alas I have put your recc in my diary for future 'events' thank you

Take care, is that bore Smith still basking in his new found local fame and glory? The man is a fool, he fools himself, I know I am a foo,l that my friends is the difference. Thank you and till we meet again....

How would you guess such a thing? No idea Cnut, try the RSPCA for clarification. Your name could be rather risky after partaking in a few wouldn't you say?

That's why I picked the name. Many forums have swear word filters and I saw this as a Wiki entry. So its legit and slightly naughty!
Any way, I dabbled with internet dating many years ago and AFF is basically one-night stands for sex. Have a look if you don't believe me.
I didn't use it but I can tell you I was successful on another dating site and we are now happily married but beware there some mad women out there!

I checked out AFF and I realised it is the same site that a young friend of my son uses.
He says he get a lot of...well,ladies bits.
I saw his page from AFF once, and the ladies he went with left him marks out of 10.
AFF seems a bit...Sleazy.
King,do you fancy sharing the site you had so much luck with?
Congratulations by the way.

Sleazy to some, fun to others my friend, give it a try before you buy as they say. All the best.

Thanks for correcting Taff, EBM. I am the landlord of the Horns Lodge and can confirm that we are a freehouse that in addition to selling Harveys specialises in real ales from microbreweries both local and further afield. we are also listed in the Good Beer Guide. I'll leave it at that or this will begin to sound like an advert!
