Does anyone have any knowledge of Ripe and what it's like as a place to live , facilities for children etc?
Yes I have visited, yes I like it but I wondered if anyone has any first hand experience of living there?
Are there any other villages on a par, seeing as Lewes is now unaffordable for the average family we are having to look further afield. Thanks.

Well Ripe is lovely and has a very active community. They organised a great street party around the jubilee and always host a Maypole dance in one of the gardens on a May Day with a May Queen and a float. There is no bus service to speak of and no park. There is a school bus that takes local children to Laughton Primary but that's about it.

FFS Doodlebug ! It's in the middle of nowhere, what do you want a park for ? Surrounded by glorious countryside, a bench ?

Thanks all for the input, we are hoping that the housing market might stabilise over the next few months(!) and we can actually afford to buy in Lewes which is really where we want to be but have to keep our options open and need to be realistic about facilities for kids/teenagers etc.
