It seems an increase of a4 paper taped to lamppost are happening in southover advertising missing animals etc. This vandalism needs to stop. It's unsightly.

Oh for goodness sake. It's called community. People who posted sheets of paper on walls in Soviet Russia were sent to Siberia. It's a reasonable thing for an animal-owner to do. Really, how very Southover.

Trouble is, they're like Xmas decorations: no one wants to take them down afterwards.

There has been a spate of pets which have been taken off the streets recently. The problem will probably get worse once the clocks go back.

To my mind, they're fine IF they get taken down afterwards. But they often aren't, even for events that you'd imagine are well-organised by sensible people. Eg the Priory Lamplight thing - there's still notices taped to the railings at the hideously ugly play area in the Covent Field next door. And there's been genuine fly-posting at the cat-area opposite the Elly on White Hill, which I'm going to report as it's 'kin unsightly!

A friend of mine was fined by the local council (not Lewes) for not taking down posters. Fairly easy to trace people as well given phone numbers are usually posted

Well I have put posters up and will continue to do it as well as my cat has been missing for oover 2 months and I have been informed that I can do this as people may have seen my cat but they are unaware he is missing all the vets etc and rescue centres advise when a animal goes missing use posters and flyers........ so to me it's not vandalisum it's finding a family pet and ime sure most people would do everything possible to find them
