Surprised that there is no mention on the forum about the significant vandalism to Malling Community Centre on Friday night / early Saturday morning. Windows were smashed, a fire started in a bin outside and access was gained (with significant internal damage). This must be heartbreaking for Liz and all those who run the centre - not to mention all the clubs that use it. the centre is a fantastic local resource and I hope that people will come forward to provide any support necessary - and that those responsible are caught (and at the least be made to repair the damage).

It was the last day for the year 11s at Priory and a number of them saw it happen (on their way to the party on Malling Down) and gave details to the police. Hopefully that included names.....

Apparently a group of yobs from Brighton. The priory year 11's called the police as mentioned. I questioned my child about the incident and she said the same as Old malling above. Hope they get them

Thanks both for the update. And positive the year 11s called it in - inevitably there had been some speculation they may have caused it, so good to hear the opposite.

I didn't say that the kids who did it weren't also Priory pupils. No idea about that one.....

They're getting closer to catching these yobs, one of the year 11's who saw it is going to give a statement on weds. One of the other year 11's knows the boys and will not grass.

Hopefully we can do to them what they did to the centre; get them smashed up, a fire started on them and access gained (with significant internal damage).
Ah but no, even if they're found and caught, the police will let them off.
