Hi. I'm trying to source a person with a van who would help transport a possible ebay item. Are there any people/companies in Lewes who do this? It's a small job as it picking up a bookcase in Wallands area and taking it to Blois Road in Landport which is basically no distance at all. Unfortunately just not in my car and seems pointless to hire a van for a half hour job. Any tips would be appreciated!

Have you sent a message via eBay to the seller to see if they could drop it round to you? You can do it by using the 'contact seller' link.
You never know, they might have an estate car or a roof rack or a van, and be happy to drop it round for you.
We sold furniture on gumtree recently, and the seller couldn't fit it in his car and was talking about hiring a van, but we knew it would fit in our car so we drove it to his house for him, no charge.
It's worth asking!

But there is a "man with van" that advertises locally, although I cannot remember where. I would contact him first, but if you have no success; I have a van and could help shift it after work if it is not too large.
I have an average sized van. I am not insured to carry goods other than my own tools, So if it a 15 century oak bookcase you should get a proper moving company. If you just want an IKEA bookcase shifted, I can help for £10-£20 depending on how long it takes, but it would need to be after 5p.m.
I don't really want to post my details, but if you want to post a disposable email account, I can get back to you. (Don't post your real email account or you will get spammed to death).

Thanks manwithvan. I haven't sorted this out completely yet but if I can't solve it, I'll come back to you. Thanks.

Man with a van advertises on this site, I used him a few years ago to move a load of stuff from Henfield to Lewes, excellent rates/service and very helpful.
