Today was the 70th. anniversary of VE day; victory in Europe, and the end of WW2. (apart from the war in the far east, against the Japs).
I went into the war memorial area in Lewes at 3pm. expecting to see a two-minute silence being observed. Instead there was one brave man in military colours attempting (sucessfully) to halt the traffic. He was met with abuse and threats- but held on till 3.02.
We need more like him!
Most of those present were only walking on the face of this earth because we defeated the Nazis in 1945.
