do you want to spend , and what size car do you want ? I'm not a dealer but an enthusiast who passes my time looking on "a well known auction site " on the web. I have recently got myself a van locally. Private sales on the site plus repairs from a good local garage are quite often good value.

Thanks. Probably don't want to spend more than about £6000. So much choice but just don't want to buy a dud - probably plump for a Ford Focus, Astra etc etc - medium sized family car

Wow £6k I was talking £1k or less LOL - with that dosh I would go to a Vauxhall Network Q dealership. I have had Vauxhalls and Peugeots from new in the last decade and will say Vauxhall is the better car. The last Ford I had was back in the 70;s . Try Eastbourne Motoring Centre. Get a petrol car - Diesels are too much bother since they fitted them with loads of electronics . They just soot up when used for short journeys. I would recommend a 1.4 petrol Astra. ...EMC have lots of various makes secondhand.
