Just a little Donna Edmunds (UKIP) update. Poor Donna recently has been showing signs of confusion. We all recall her claim on this very Forum that all restrictions should be removed from businesses so that they could freely discriminate against anyone, including disabled people etc etc until market forces dictated what kind of businesses people wanted to support, unhindered by pesky EU anti-discrimination (against disabled people) laws. Well......she seems to now have 2 opposing views, depending on the audience. Her facebook page states: "I am a Ukip member with a profoundly disabled daughter. To suggest that I would ever support a party which discriminates against disability..... is offensive in the extreme!" Funnily enough I agreed with the sentiment, when Donna Edmunds (UKIP) herself, originally suggested discriminating against disabled people and others was OK.

Are you sure we've got the EU to thank for the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act? I think our own Parliament was quite capable of bringing in legislation against discriminating against the disabled, just as it did in the case of race and sex discrimination. Having said that, I agree with the rest of your comment.

It is currently far from perfect , but we are certainly going in the right direction. There have been plenty of positive changes (eg legal requirements) and we don't need Ukip to reverse them as part of their ill thought through obsession with the EU and immigration.
