I think the pink Tulips beds around town look lovely. Is there a firm that the Council gets to do the beds? I'm guessing that once the flowers have faded the bulbs will be dug up and got rid of to be replaced by summer bedding. This seems a terrible waste. I'd love some of the bulbs...anyone know who I could contact?

My guess is the Councils Environmental Health Services Department?

Be more than their job's worth to simply give them away and they just couldn't organise selling them either. PS Tulip bulbs aren't as expensive as they were in the 17th century now you know !!

Chase up Ruth O keefe or Rosalyin St Pierre who are both involved in the lewes little gardens. It will be the council parks and gardens dept, but wther county council, district council or town council is anyone's guess. It could even be the roads dept.
I think your best bet is to ring the east sussex switchboard and ask who is responsible for the Lewes flowerbeds

I doubt they would be thrown. I'm no gardener, but i'm pretty sure they get stored in a dark, cool, dry place until autumn when they are planted again. I think they call it 'lifting'.

I think many of the single beds in town (as opposed to The Grange etc) are tended by Wyevale or whatever they call themselves these days.
