Could someone explain why, in the year of the tree, swathes of trees are being felled along the road from Offham to the Neville and along Winterborne? Haven't we got enough to concern us at the moment?

The year of the tree is sufficiently vague to mean anything, like biodiversity. Come to think of it, that'll probably be one of the reasons given for the felling. But it's been covered on the forum recently and is all about controlling ash die back.

So Ash Die Back has passed you by? Did you not get the council's door drop notification (The one with the misspelling of Bloise (sic) Road) explaining what was to be done and why. Do you not read the Sussex Express? Do you not speak to neighbours? Do you actually think somebody just thought hey lets wipe out a few acres of self sown natural vegetation that will be good for the wildlife etc etc.
