Just spent over an hour on my train from London Bridge sitting just outside Lewes. The one in front had a failure of its brakes which meant they were stuck on. Our train was eventually joined onto it to try and get it some power but failed to move 16 coaches. We finally all had to file down the whole train to exit at the front. All trains behind will be severely delayed or cancelled I should think. Home and beer now.

Thankfully only delayed by half an hour by going to Brighton first.. Specific train laid on by southern to get everyone to Lewes and beyond from Brighton. Taxis to those going to Cooksbridge and Plumpton....well organised I thought!

Is all the delays, headaches , being stressed , late home , pay a fortune for your ticket for terrible service etc worth it for a few grand a year more . i personally think not!

I avoided London as long as possible but many sectors simply don’t operate outside of London so there’s little choice.
