So what do you think of the phoenix quarter proposal?
A town meeting has been called on Wednesday 7th December in the corn exchange 7.30pm. Fo anyone interested in discussing the proposed development.

Did Lewes Matters go to the prestation given at the Town Council planning meeting recently. The meetings are open to the public and an agenda is posted on the front of the Town Hall. If you missed that there was an extension to the display at Market Lane Garage - which I assume Lewes Matters visited and made comments.
The development has not even got as far as an Outline planning proposal, so any discussion is fairly academic since what has been presented are ideas.
I understand the sentiments surrounding doing a Town Meeting, however closer investigation into the planning process would not go amiss.

Once outline planning has been given it becomes harder to challenge any development. With a development of this scale consultation is surely need at all stages of the process. Having the meeting now gives the people of Lewes more opportunity to influence.
