At what age is it not cool for a man to have an earing?

Like long hair, an earring for men is a sign of a free spirit when they're young, but after a certain age, they begin to look like a bit of a loser. There are a few men in Lewes with long, grey ponytails and I'm afraid that it's not a good look. Celine is probably on the mark with 25, although I think you can stretch it to the 30s under some circumstances.
If you're over 40, it's a midlife crisis.
(I expect to receive a number of thumbs down from older men with long hair and their spouses, but I'm going on what most women tell me).

An old friend got an earring at the age of 84. In the 1990s. He was ex RAF and looked quite posh in his blazer and cavalry twill trousers. He went deaf in one ear, but could still use the other one with a hearing aid. In order to make it easier for his friends to remember which one to speak into his Daughter suggested an ear stud and he looked great with startling blue one. However I suspect that if I wore one I would look like a senile pirate. I suppose it is a question of what you can carry off and the impression you want to give in the circles in which you move.

Had both of mine done when I was 16 and went out with a trainee hairdresser. Now 42 and still wear them both.

Still wear mine at 53. I'm probably not that cool, but I don't really care. Worrying whether you look cool or not really isn't very cool!

Who cares what other people think?! If you like it, that's the main thing. If other people have a problem, well it's their problem. Not yours. People shouldn't stop what they wear jewellery or otherwise just because something isn't cool anymore. Be an individual not one of the masses
