Hi there. I'm new to the area and would love to meet other moms and babies. I have a 15 month old little girl and I'm currently a stay at home mom.
Can anyone suggest messy play groups or mom coffee meets and events, preferably in the afternoons? I would really appreciate the suggestions! Thank you

Sorry to be pedantic, but the word is Mum, with a 'U'. Mom is something that Americans say (my apologies if you are American!)

welcome sheri, i hope you are settling in well, and please ignore negative postings on this forum you have to cut through the crap, you are posting a perfectly reasonable question!
my children are a little older now, but from memory.....
- pells paddlers on a tues morning from july
- monkey biz on a monday morning through NCT
- church groups such as christ church on a fri am
- all saints on a fri am
- the lewes institution tinklers (google for times and places)
- various things @ kings church, tumble tots, art class
- wave leisure centre gym
- sure there are many things in the new children centre in malling
i think there are probably more things in the mornings than afternoons however.
thats some good places to start :-)

As Mrs Patmore has stated all great.
Lewes Working Men's Club are holding a BBQ on Saturday 20th June at 2pm and will be showing Shaun the Sheep Movie at 15.30 they do not charge to come and watch the film. It is not a mother and baby group it is a nice way to meet other parents and children. Lewes Working Men's Club is located in Malling Street next door the ESSO Garage. This may not be ideal for your childs age, but it is free and gets you out the house and have conversations with adults.
The Elephant and Castle Pub I believe on Saturdays has a Father/Mother Baby Group, Huw is the one to talk to about this. The Elephant and Castle is by the Paddock and not too far away from the Pells Pool and Park.

Also check the town council website which lists local community groups and events/classes at the All Saints centre. Another place to look would be the small ads in the local Lewes News - eleiverd every month to all Lewes households.
The local NCT may also be helpful

King's Tots (pre-school children and carers) now has sessions on both Friday mornings and Friday afternoons at the church building near Homebase. Very active! From very small to school age. Not sure there are any vacancies in the mornings, but I think there may be in the afternoons - or will be from September anyway. People with younger children tend to join the afternoon session; more older ones in the mornings.

If you go to the Lewes Childrens Centre at Malling Community Centre they will be able to give you a list of all local childrens groups. They also run quite a few themselves in Lewes, Ringmer and Chailey.

Sheri. Your other half may want to join other blokes with their babies/toddlers every Saturday morning either upstairs at the Elephant and Castle or at the Snowdrop. Get him to send me a text and I will add him to my list. 07981528960.
