Just read and enjoyed (empathised with?) Beth Miller's latest article and wanted to add that the Wok Inn is great for people with children. The staff are very kind and friendly, the high chairs are always clean and the food is very nice too.
I agree that Pizza Express are pretty good, must try Lazatti's, never been there before but I have heard that the food is lovely.

Lazattis is very good, though I am not so sure it is suitable for young children. Just my opinion as it is a little cramped.

Lazatti's is one of the best restaurants in the area - including Brighton - and in my humble opinion the best in Lewes, £ for .

I'd agree about Lazatti's being excellent.

I like Lazattis too. In that article in the magazine bit of this site she does agree with you Taff that the tables are quite close together. I was in Wickle this week and even better realised that children can draw with chalk on some of the tables in the cafe! Tired Mum, where is the Wok Inn, I have never heard of it?

Pubs worth trying with the kids (we have taken our 4 to these successfully) - 1.The Swan in Southover - up until 8pm - share the plates - meals are massive, well-made and great value - plus Harveys...
2. Kings Head - Southover - great for Sunday lunch
3. Ram Inn, Firle - get there early.
My advice would be to avoid pubs that seem to focus on 'family food', have swings, playgrounds, and tannoys in the garden

Done White Hart - Dorset - Panda Garden too without much problem - most popular food for my littl'un is the deep fried, curried South American insects sold with lime pickle and mango chutney from the side of a trailer opposite Forfar's on a Saturday AM - perfect eaten on a garden chair up the side of the Gardeners with a pint of porter

For parents, add to that list the Juggs in Kingston. Playground attached so they don't have to annoy other diners if they want to run about. Same goes for their kids. Boom boom!
