If you removed the thumbs down icon from this forum, people who disagree with the post will have to say why they think that it is wrong or whatever. People who agree with a post can just give it a thumbs up. If it matters to you, you can compare the views of forum users by comparing the thumbs up.

Explain? I gave you a thumbs down because if there's any explaning to be done it should be by those who support as well as those who oppose. Personally, I think the whole thumbs up-thumbs down thing is absurd.

The benefit of thumbs up is that if someone agrees with a post but has nothing to add to it they can just do that. Anyway looks like it's not a burning issue for forum members. I'm a little disappointed only to get 19 thumbs down. I had hoped for 40. Just been on the lewes Facebook page and a number of people are complaining that their posts have been removed. I'm barred from the Symes lewes present site so no idea of the state of free speech on there but someone on the lewes sites says that every comment on it now needs to be approved. Why does anyone bother with either of those personal fiefdoms masquerading as lewes fora? This site has been healthier but at least you can be fairly confident you will be allowed to have your say.
