Thefts from station bike-shed

No, my bike hasn't been nicked from the shed, but someone today pulled off all the easily-removable bits - battered old pannier-basket, old bungee, even the old pink shower-cap that I use as a saddle-cover. I can't imagine how they're worth being a thief for. I use my pannier-basket daily, so in case the taker's dumped it in Lewes, here's a description: black wire deep basket with two hooks (for hanging on rack at back), very battered and held together at the top with wire, cable-ties and two large silver nails. It's really sad that it's not safe to leave even minor bits on your bike for a few hours at the station.
Thank you!

Thanks, Wanderer - so I've been to the station and reported it and the transport police are going to check the CCTV footage! Not the crown jewels gone, but it's really disappointing that bikes are being vandalised there.
Now watch out for someone trying to sell a pink shower-cap in the pub........
